Bromley Guitar Society

The Bromley Guitar Society was founded in 1982 to encourage local interest in the classical guitar. The main aim of the Society is to give people who are studying the instrument an opportunity to perform to a sympathetic audience who share a common interest. By doing this, the Society aims to bring the classical guitar more into the forefront of local musical activity and also to give students an opportunity to hear others play.

The Society has approximately 65 members and a few of them are shown in the picture above (click the image to increase the size)

Membership Information

There are three categories of membership, with different annual subscription rates:

bulletFamily: £12
bulletSingle Adult: £8
bulletStudent: £5

Student membership is available to all students in full-time education.

All paid-up members of the Society receive the monthly Newsletter, and may attend and vote at the AGM. The membership includes admission to the year's Member's evenings free of charge, and admission at a reduced rate to concerts and meetings where a guest artist or paid speaker is engaged

The annual membership subscriptions are an important source of income for the Society, and cover much of the overheads of the Society meetings.

When a concert is arranged, a top artist is usually engaged, at a substantial fee, and a separate charge is made. Members enjoy a reduced rate, and have priority when booking seats.
